Tonnes of Brits make the decision to go abroad for their hen parties each year, leaving the United Kingdom behind to find the culture and atmosphere of the giant party towns across Europe and beyond, regularly overlooking the great destinations right on their doorstep. Just across the border lies some great night life as well as some stunning design and some of the finest festivals the UK has to offer.
Edinburgh is internationally famous for its impressive history and design, with thousands of visitors making the trip to see the castle as well as the great number of museums and art studios. The Whisky Experience comes strongly recommended, you even get a wee dram to try at the end of the tour!
The Scottish are well known for their wonderful hospitality, and you?ll find yourself enormously impressed with just how friendly people are! There also are tons of hostels to suit each budget and a great retail zone too if you lose interest of all the colourful bars and clubs. If organizing a trip, make sure you look to see what?s going on first, as there are a plethora of festivals going on all the year round. Don?t miss out!
Glasgow has also got a well established reputation as one of the very finest party cities in the UK. Boasting masses of bars, there is also a lively stand-up scene and is often known as a Western european centre for Burlesque, giving you the option of doing something a little bit different for your hen party. If, like me, you?re enthusiastic about soccer, a trip to Celtic Park and Ibrox and a tour round the Scottish Football Museum might be just the kind of thing you?re after!
If you want getting out of the town for a bit, Scotland has some of the most breath-taking pretty landscapes in Europe as well as some great golfing and spa resorts or, if you’d like something even more active, loads of adventure centers for activity weekends.
